What is a Long Distance Move?

A long distance move is a move across states or over a distance of more than 100 miles. In order to determine the distance of your move you can provide us with your origin and destination zip codes and your Personal Relocation Coordinator will calculate the distance using our state-of-the-art computerized system.

You may also use Map Quest Web Site: http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp?bCTsettings=1

Enter both addresses (origin and destination) and hit the "Get Directions" button to see the mileage between the two addresses.

What are the costs for a Long Distance Move?

Long Distance Moves are usually charged by weight or CUF based on the number of miles the shipment will have to cross. In addition, there may be more factors which can effect your cost such as:

Special care items (such as: Piano, Big screen TV, Hot Tub, Heavy Art works, Etc.) Distance between the location and the loading trucks (accessibility, elevator) Multiple locations for pickup and/or delivery Full or partial packing and/or unpacking Storage

The move itself starts from the door of the location where we pickup your items, and ends at the location where we deliver them. Costs for storage and full packing and/or unpacking are separate costs that we can factor into your total move cost upon request.

Global Moving Systems, Inc. offers a Free Onsite Estimate at your location in order to provide you with a Flat Rate for your upcoming move.
